Libby Carpenter, LLMSW
Relationships are at the center of what I do, knowing that they nurture us, challenge us, and shape our lives in so many ways. As a member of the Nurture Family, my work centers on evidence-based practice and daily accompaniment of my clients through the joys, hardships and in-between moments of their lives. I have a passionate heart for taking care of not only the individual, but the whole system around them, and for maximizing daily life when it not only needs to become more manageable, but more meaningful.
With a background in both Mental Health Counseling and High School Counseling, I have, and always will, feel privileged to be a small part of my clients’ village. I look forward to our work together, especially as we collaborate in recognizing and building upon your strengths, working to understand various thoughts, feelings and emotions, finding power in the evolution of your own mindset, and being a strong support as you decide which step is the next, best one forward.
Hillary Maier, LLPC, PMH-C
The ability to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families on their mental wellness journeys — to the point where they no longer need my presence — is a privilege I cherish. When navigating the heavy waves of trauma, grief, or the unique complexities of the perinatal period, it is easy to feel defined by your pain. You might feel like your experiences have rewritten who you are, or that your reactions are “wrong.” Your thoughts and reactions are signals from a system trying to protect itself - not a reflection of your worth. Your experience is real and you are inherently worthy of healing.
In our work together, we approach therapy through two lenses. First, we prioritize your immediate safety and stability. We’ll build a “toolbox” of practical skills to help you navigate the world right now. Second, we do the deeper investigative work. Think of it like those “clue walls” in detective stories, where we map out the red strings connecting your current triggers to their origins so we can uncover why certain wounds remain open and begin to heal them. You aren’t just surviving your past; you are learning to lead a life that isn’t dictated by it.
Alex Naum, Life Coach
Life is often referred to as a “marathon,” but mine felt more like an American ninja warrior course. I was moving at full throttle and suddenly every issue in my life crashed down on me at once. I was “stuck.” And if you are reading this right now, I would venture to say I’m not alone in that feeling. It was hard for me to admit, but I knew I could no longer fight my battles on my own. That single act of courage and vulnerability completely changed my life. It wasn’t until my own pursuit of inner healing that I became inspired to deliver that same hope, peace, and resilience to those in need. It is one of my life’s greatest honors to be able to do this at NURTURE.
Before becoming a part of the NURTURE team, I have been privileged to serve families in a variety of different contexts. For nearly 7 years, I provided Faith-based counseling and life coaching for all ages. Most of my time and expertise was devoted to helping elementary to college age students navigate through the muddy waters of relationships, emotions, suicide, depression, anxiety, identity, and “church hurt.” For two years, I served the Flint community as a registered addictions counselor and grief group facilitator. Currently, I am blessed to be the counselor for a local Fenton business, as well as the amazing NURTURE Tribe. I spend my time with my lovely wife and three children.
I love working with anyone and everyone, but my heart has grown fond of:
Helping students and young adults find hope and purpose
Helping individuals understand their emotions and be able to express them with confidence
Helping individuals and couples find meaningful connection
Helping individuals navigate complex grief and loss
Helping individuals navigate spiritual trauma and growth
Lauren Peabody, LMSW
I am a lifelong learner and strive to always increase my knowledge and skill in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for families, individuals and children. I believe we are all the masters of our own fate and can learn from all of our experiences, both joyful and difficult. I have a strong passion for parenting, family dynamics and helping individuals see the connections between childhood and adult patterns.
I, as everyone, wear many hats. I am a wife, mother of three children, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, in-law and friend. I believe in therapy to my core and wish to spread the many positive outcomes of counseling to the Fenton community. It is my hope that one day therapists will be viewed as a part of every family "team," similar to that of an attorney, health provider or accountant. It really does take a village!
Jenn Scieszka - Yoga, Somatic Therapy and Embodiment Work + Direction of Operations
I am a yoga and somatic coach and breathwork practitioner dedicated to promoting holistic well-being through the integration of yoga and mindful breathing techniques. I’m passionate about helping individuals achieve mental, emotional, and physical balance for a healthier, more harmonious life. I help facilitate healing through the exploration of mind-body connections. At NURTURE we do this by helping individuals overcome trauma and stress by fostering awareness of bodily sensations and promoting self-discovery. Guiding clients towards a deeper understanding of themselves for lasting transformation and well-being.
I am also a wife, mother of four beautiful children and a garden & farming enthusiast.
I have been with the NURTURE family for six years and also do much of the behind the scenes work, including being the first point of contact for incoming clients and families.
